Collagen Biostimulator Hand Rejuvenation

Long-Lasting Rejuvenation Of Your Hands With Biostimulators

Biostimulators are a type of injectable product that provides long-lasting and sustained correction by volumization through stimulating your body to produce collagen. It has become increasingly popular in Southeast Asia and especially in Singapore as collagen stimulator to reverse signs of ageing and also for facial augmentation. It differs from traditional dermal fillers, which work by directly filling in a wrinkle or volume deficiency using hyaluronic acid.

On the other hand, biostimulators contain a biodegradable synthetic material to stimulate your own collagen to correct volume loss, wrinkles and folds – treating the underlying causes of facial ageing at its root. As a result, you can expect a natural, youthful appearance with long-lasting effects.

Why Do My Hands Age So Quickly?

At a certain age, the hands tend to significantly undergo signs of volume loss, caused by both intrinsic and extrinsic factors. Some of these factors include smoking, poor dietary preference, alcohol abuse, genetics, rheumatologic diseases etc. Sun exposure is perhaps the main reason why your hands are ageing more quickly than other parts of your body. However, UV rays aren’t the only reason why your hands are wrinkled and bony. Your hands are constantly exposed to the harsh weather elements. In addition, regular handwashing, hot water, detergents and household chores can dry out your skin and age your hands faster than it should.

Reverse Hand Ageing with Biostimulators

At Radium, we offer a wide range of biostimulators such as Sculptra, Ellanse, and Radiesse.

In particular, we prefer to use Ellanse (also known as 少女针)  for the purpose of hand rejuvenation. The procedure of using dermal fillers for hand rejuvenation is a relatively straightforward and simple treatment. However, to get the desired smooth and natural result in the hands without any adverse event, the procedure needs to be carried out by an experienced doctor.

During the treatment, the doctor injects Ellanse into the back of the hands under the skin to plump up and introduce volume so that your underlying tendons and bones become less visible.

Any Side Effects or Risks?

To avoid any complications, it is important to be familiar with the anatomy of the hands. The doctor needs to navigate the venous network that comprises of both superficial and deep veins in the hands.

One of the biggest risks with administering fillers into the back of the hands is unintentional injection into a blood vessel. Although the chances of this happening are very small, complications of such adverse events can be serious, resulting in permanent problem.

How long Can the Result Last?

The effects are gradual and long-lasting of up to 3 years, to give your hands a natural, youthful appearance. The skin on your hands become softer, firmer and plumper. At the same time, your hands become less bony as volume is replaced, and the veins become less visible.

Dr. Siew Tuck Wah, Medical Director of the clinic attended Ellanse Trainers’ Accreditation and is certified as an Ellanse Trainer in May 2017. He has undergone extensive training in the use of Ellanse fillers to achieve the best result for patients.
