Lip Fillers: Shape Your Lips to Give You The Soft, Natural Feel

Lip augmentation is a non-surgical procedure that aims to alter and enhance the appearance of the lips by increasing its fullness and volume through a series of injections, typically using hyaluronic acid fillers. With a pair of trained eyes and proper injection techniques, our doctors place soft hyaluronic acid fillers to shape the upper and lower lips to enhance the shape and achieve the ideal size of the lips.

What are hyaluronic acid fillers?

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally-occurring substance found in our bodies. High concentrations are found in soft connective tissues and in the fluid surrounding our eyes. It is also found in cartilage, joint fluids, and skin tissue. When hyaluronic acid fillers are injected, it behaves like an inflated support to provide a soft, yet firm structure to contour facial features that may have lost volume or elasticity due to ageing. Hyaluronic acid fillers also have hydrating component. It absorbs water several times its weight and brings water to the surface of the skin so that it keeps the injected area firm and supple.

Hyaluronic acid for lip fillers

Hyaluronic acid fillers are excellent for contouring the lips. They give your pout a soft, natural feel, while sculpting them to become more luscious and defined. Lip fillers that gave dreaded “bee-stung” lips are a thing of the past with the newer, softer and longer lasting fillers.
Lip filler treatment not only restores the lost volume and sagging from ageing, but also gives your lips the shape you have always wanted, in a 30-minute, safe and effective procedure.

Any side effects of the treatment?

Hyaluronic acid fillers are very safe, with a low incidence of allergy or side effects.

how long can lip fillers last?

When soft dermal fillers are administered, they usually last approximately between 6 and 12 months. However, with repeated treatments, it can last much longer without the need for frequent top up.

what is required to prepare for lip filler treatment?

You should avoid alcohol, blood thinning supplements and food including ginger, garlic, turmeric, omega-3 fatty acids, olive oil etc.. You should also avoid blood thinning medicines such as aspirin, heparin or warfarin. Inform the doctor before the procedure if you are consuming them.

Any side effects after the treatment?

You may experience some mild swelling or redness around the lips. Bruising may also occur. However, these should subside in a day. Take an ice pack to ice the area and apply calming balm on it to accelerate healing.
Avoid sleeping with your face down on the pillow as it will put pressure on the lips.

Will lip fillers ruin your lips?

Other than lip fillers, there are permanent solutions to plump up your lips by placing silicone under the skin. However, placement of foreign bodies are typically riskier than hyaluronic acid fillers because it may potentially cause an infection and the result can sometimes look and feel unnatural. On the other hand, lip fillers are generally safe and provide a natural-looking appearance that can last for about 12 months.
