All You Need to Know About Non-Surgical Nose Job (Nose Fillers) in Singapore

Many Asians do not have sharp, defined noses like their Caucasian counterparts. It comes as no surprise when nose job is one of the most common aesthetic treatments performed in Asia.

Undergoing a cosmetic treatment allows the doctor to contour the nose and give it height and projection, increasing the overall appeal of your face.

One of the most common ways to contour the nose is by way of a surgical procedure called ‘rhinoplasty’. It is a plastic surgery procedure to correct and reconstruct the nose. However, the downtime is long and the stakes are high.

Hence, people are exploring non-surgical options to improve their appearance. According to data released by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, there is a steady increase in the number of cosmetic procedures performed yearly.

The statistics also revealed a sharper increase in minimally invasive cosmetic procedures as compare to cosmetic surgeries.

What is a nose filler?

Nose fillers help you to achieve your desired nose shape without invasive surgery. This procedure uses hyaluronic acid to alter your nose without the risks involved in traditional nose jobs.

How do nose fillers work?

Tiny amounts of dermal fillers are administered on the bridge and tip of the nose. By doing so, doctors are able to make off-centre noses appear straight.

In the hands of an experienced injector, fillers can be placed strategically on the bridge of the nose, where light reflects off it the most, giving the nose a narrower, slimmer appearance.

LONGEVITY OF RESULTS A nose filler is not permanent. So if you don’t like the results, you can wait for a few months for it to completely dissolve, or even have it reversed immediately. A surgical rhinoplasty is usually permanent and removing it means undergoing another surgery.

What does a non-surgical nose job entail?

NOSE DERMAL FILLER By applying dermal fillers on the bridge and bump of the nose, doctors are able to make slightly off-center noses look completely straight. Additionally, by injecting tiny amounts of dermal fillers around the tip of the nose, doctors can make it look thinner. NOSE THREAD LIFT Special threads made of polydioxanone (PDO) are inserted horizontally into the nose bridge and vertically into the nose tip. The threads help to shape the nose and provide a scaffolding structure to support the nose in its desired state.

PDO nose thread lift is a non-surgical nose augmentation treatment that does not require general anesthesia. The treatment can be performed comfortably with a combination of numbing cream and local anesthesia.

After these special threads are embedded into the nose, they will completely dissolve after 6 to 8 months. However, the nose continues to stay in its lifted position for another 8 months because of the collagen production around the threads.
